How To Make Money From Your Blog or Website
There are some really simple ways to start monetising your blog, if that’s what you want to do, so here is some quick things you can investigate.
I would say, to start with however, that you should always look to make money form things on your blog that your audience will benefit form and that you personally use, value or support and never ever just offer something because it makes money, all that will happen is that you will alienate your loyal readers and shift from being a trusted source of information in to a person of little integrity.
If there is a product or service I use and after using it I really rate it, check out to see if they offer an affiliate program. I don’t like many of the “hard sell” affiliate offers out there, but if I use and like something, then there is a good chance my blog audience will too and that I can make a commission by connecting the two parties, I can also add value to my blog readers, because I am a user, by offering help, advice, tips and tricks that have worked for me along the way.
Amazon is a personal favourite for this as they sell just about everything these days, I also use affiliate services like ClickBank and Commission Junction too, but you have to be more careful that your standards and expectations are matched or exceeded sometimes with some of the products they offer.
There are also affiliate deals for virtually every type or product, service or interest out there, so even if your niche is small, there is affiliate money to be made.
Google and other Ad networks
This is a really easy one to do and the provider takes care of targeting the adverts, whether as text or banner ads, they may even offer a referrals program.
There are many advertising platforms and companies out there that look for blogs and websites with relevant traffic and you don’t need big traffic for it to work for you, also don’t be afraid to deal directly with brands.
Obviously as with everything internet advertising wise Google is the big player with their AdSense and Ad Words services, but other providers like Chitika, PocketCents, Yahoo Advertising and Bidvertiser each offer a slightly different type of service and they may be better for your particular site.
The great thing about social media is that it’s actually quite easy to find people who are looking for what you have to offer; in fact some people make £10,000s a month just connecting people with affiliate products.
